About Me
Chrissi spent over 10 years in the construction industry, as a Site Manager and Setting Out Engineer, before starting Constructing Equality. During her time on-site, she was involved in a wide range of projects including BSF schemes, Peckham Library and Manchester Transport Interchange. She’s immensely passionate about construction, both in terms of its effect on communities and on employees. Which is why, while working in industry, she also found the time to front Construction Skills’ positive image campaign on BEBO, build a school in Uganda for Charity and represent the Chartered Institute of Building as an Ambassador and Board member. Since starting Constructing Equality, Chrissi has guest lectured in equality and diversity at Salford University, presented to numerous conferences up and down the country, written articles for leading construction publications, contributed to Government papers, spoken at the House of Lords and driven change by lobbying and influencing some of the construction industry’s key figures. But while her achievements may seem diverse, her sole aims are to increase the professionalism of the construction industry. And improve its reputation internally and, crucially, among the public.
